Jersey Shore Attractions

The Jersey Shore is an area of about 217 miles encompassing much of the Atlantic shoreline of New Jersey. The Jersey Shore area begins in Sandy Hook to the north and ends at Cap May to the south. Along the way is a plethora of things to do and see.

Cape May Lighthouse
This historic lighthouse stands on Cape May Point, on the southernmost portion of New Jersey. The current lighthouse is actually the third to stand on this point, opening in 1859. While the dwelling attached to the lighthouse is closed, the lighthouse itself is open to the public.

The Ocean City Boardwalk
Whether your interests are shopping, exercise, attractions or family-friendly attractions, the Ocean City Boardwalk is the place to be. The boardwalk offers everything from amusement parks to fudge shops and year-round events sure to please just about everyone.

Pirate Voyages
Another Ocean City, NJ attraction, Pirate Voyages on the Sea Dragon are a family-friendly event, but one that is full of fun and surprises sure to be talked about for years to come. The voyage is an hour long and takes place aboard a replica pirate ship. Be prepared to get wet though, it's quite possible that the crew of the Sea Dragon will have to defend their ship from rival pirates using their water cannons.

Paranormal Books & Curiosities
For those with an interest in the paranormal, this unique book shop in Asbury Park's revived historic district is very appealing. The bookshelves are crammed in wall to wall, and are filled with books on every sort of paranormal topic one can think of, but the cozy, yet slightly creepy, coffee shop like atmosphere is only one reason to come here. In addition to the book store, the shop plays host to a museum of strange curiosities, including such interesting bits as a human shrunken head and Robert E. Lee's death mask. There is also an excellent exhibit on the Jersey Devil. That's not quite all, however, as the shop also hosts a "Ghosts and Legends Walking Tour" of Asbury Park.

Silverball Pinball Museum
Also located in Asbury Park, this museum hosts over 200 classic pinball machines. Passes can be bought to allow playing of the machines. This is a great place for those that remember when pinball machines were almost everywhere or who want to relive the nostalgia of that bygone era.
